Jesus, The Stone That the Builders Rejected - 1 Peter 2
JESUS, THE TEMPLE’S CORNERSTONE REJECTED BY THE BUILDERS
It is essential to understand why Jews do not believe in Jesus. The purpose is not to disparage other religions but to raise and clarify the Jewish position. The more information there is to choose from, the better people can decide about their spiritual lives.
Jews - Jesus Did Not Fulfill Messianic
Prophecies.
Christians - What does the Messiah have to
accomplish? The Bible says he must:– Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28) and gather all the Jews back to the land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).– Bring an era of world peace and end hatred, oppression, suffering, and disease. As it is
written: “One nation shall not lift up a sword against another nation; nor will
men study how to make war anymore” (see Isaiah 2:4).– Spread universal
knowledge about the God of Israel – uniting the entire human race as one. As it
is written:
Jews and Christians - “God will be King
over the whole world – on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One”
(Zechariah 14:9). There will be no difference between Jews, Christians,
Muslims and all people who believe in God, and His Son Jesus Christ.
Jews - The historical fact is that Jesus
did not fulfill any of these messianic prophecies. Christianity Contradicts
Jewish Theology.
Christianity – The Old Testament and the
Torah are the foundation of the New Testament.
Christianity - God like three? God the
Father, Light (Spirit, you can not see Him). The Son, the Light of this world,
incarnated (You can see Him).
The Christian idea of the trinity divides God
into three separate entities: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matthew
28:19).
Jews - This contradicts the Shema, the
basis of Jewish belief: "Listen, O Israel, the Lord is our G-d, the Lord
is ONE" (Deuteronomy 6:4). Jews declare the oneness of G-d every day,
writing it , on their door frames – the mezuzot, and tying it to their arms and
heads – the tefillin. This assertion of G-d's oneness is the first words a Jewish child is taught and the last words spoken before dying. In Jewish law, worshiping a divine trinity is considered idolatry – one of the cardinal sins for which a Jew must give his life before transgressing. This explains why, during the inquisitions and throughout our history, Jews have preferred to give
their lives rather than convert to Christianity.
Christianity -Man as God? Christians
believe that God came to earth in the form of a man, as Jesus said, "I and
the Father are one" (John 10:30). Phillip, one of his disciples, asks Jesus:
“Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough
for us.” 9 Jesus
told him, “Have I been with you so long, and you
still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How
can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do
you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words
that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the father who
dwells in me does his works. (John 14:9,10).
The Jews and the Islam don’t believe that Jesus is the Messiah who came the first time but was rejected and crucified. But they both are expecting Him, the Jews, the Messiah, and the Islam, the Mahdi, the one who will come before the Jewish Messiah, the Son of Mery. Bu as a mortal. The
Islamic Mahdi will come to bring order and law according to their culture. It
is like the Antichrist. They don't deny Jesus, but they don’t believe that
Jesus was the Son of God, but at the same time, the Son of Man. This gave him
the capacity of the transfiguration in front of three of his disciples.[1]

Jews - Maimonides dedicates most of his book "The Guide of the Perplexed" to the fundamental idea that G-d lacks a body, a physical form. G-d is Eternal; he is above time.
He is Infinite, beyond space. He could not have been born and cannot die.
Saying that G-d assumes a human form makes G-d small, destroying the Oneness
and Divinity in him, as the Torah says: “G-d is not a mortal” (Numbers 23 19).
Judaism says the Messiah will be
born of human parents, with physical attributes like any other person. He will not be a demi-god, and he will not possess supernatural
characteristics. In fact, an individual lives in each generation with the
capacity to take on the role of Messiah (see Maimonides- Laws of Kings 11:3).

Christianity – God is not a mortal. God is
Spirit. Jesus came as “the Son of God,” but He was, too, “the Son of Man”. As
Maimonides said: “Each generation with the capacity to take on the role of
Messiah” (see Maimonides- Laws of Kings 11:3). In the Old Testament says: “Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will
conceive and give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel.” (Isaiah
7:14). “In the New Testament in (John 1:26-36) says: “In the sixth month the
angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to
a virgin betrothed[a] to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And
the virgin's name was Mary. 28 He came to her
and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”[b] 29 But she was greatly troubled at the
saying and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. 30 And
the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor
with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in
your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. 32 He
will be great and called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord
God will give to him the throne of his father David, 33, and
he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom, there
will be no end.”
Christianity - Prayer - Christian prayers are directed to
God through Jesus Christ. A
basic idea of Christianity is that prayer must be directed through an
intermediary – for example, confessing sins to God. Jesus is an
intermediary, as he said: "Let no man come to the Father except
through me." “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do,
that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If
you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:13-15). “5 “And when you pray, you must not be like the
hypocrites. They love to stand and pray in the synagogues and street corners so that others may see them. Truly, I say to you, they
have received their reward. 6 But
when you pray, go into your room, shut the door, and pray to your Father secretly. And your Father, who sees you in secret, will reward you.7 “And
when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do,
for they think that they will be heard for their many words. 8 Do
not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” ( Matthew 6:5-8).
Jews and Christians - In Judaism, prayer is
a private matter between each individual and G-d. As the Bible
says, “G-d is close to everyone who truly calls upon Him” (Psalms 145:18).
Furthermore, the Ten Commandments say: "You must not have other gods
before Me", meaning that it is forbidden to place a mediator between G-d
and man. (See Maimonides – Laws of idolatry chapter 1).
Jews - Jesus Did Not Meet the Requirements of the Messiah.
Jews—Jesus was not a prophet. Prophecy can only exist when the earth is inhabited by a majority of Jews.” (During the time of Ezra (c. 300 B.C.E.), most Jews refused to move from Babylon to Israel, so the prophecy ended with the death of the last prophets—Jagai, Zechariah, and Malachi. Jesus appeared on the scene
approximately 350 years after the time of the prophets had ended.
Christianity – (Deuteronomy 18:15) says: “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet
like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen.“And thousands of years before
Christ in the New Testament says: “22 For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up
for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to
everything he tells you.” This was said after Jesus' resurrection. His disciples, after Pentecost, having been filled with the Holy Ghost, and with the power that came over them, began to preach the Gospel of Jesus to the same people who had killed Him.”
Christianity, Jews, and Islamism are in conflict
about Who Jesus was. Jesus is the stone of conflict. The New Testament in 1
Peter 2 says:
“4 As you come to him, a living
stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you
yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to
be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable
to God through Jesus Christ. 6 For it stands in
Scripture:
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a
stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious; whoever believes in him will not
be put to shame.” 7 So the honor is for you
who believe, but for those who do not believe. “The stone that the
builders rejected[1] has
become the cornerstone,” 8 and “A stone of stumbling, and
a rock of offense.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they
were destined to do.9 But you are a chosen
race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his
own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called
you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 You were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received
mercy, you have received mercy.”
As the book of Revelation says, Christians believe that Jesus came the first time as a Lamb. “I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain” (Revelation 5:6). He came first as a humble Lamb. But now he comes like a Lion, conquering and to conquer. and he will rule them
with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I have received authority from my Father. (Revelation 2:27). (No more wokism)
Not because the Jews rejected Jesus when he came the first time; we are going to hate them. The Bible says those who bless the Jews will be blessed, but those who curse them will be cursed. That they have evildoers who hate others, yes, but the people of Israel are the instrument God has used to bless all humanity.
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! 7 Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” 8 For my brothers and companions' sake, I will say, “Peace be within you!” 9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.” (Psalm 122:6-9).
[1] The cornerstone bore the weight
of the entire structure and served as a reference point for placing other
stones. It had to be large, solid, and worthy. Other stones were “rejected”
until a suitable cornerstone was found. Today, cornerstones are often inscribed
with dates or commemorations, emphasizing a building’s significance. It is said that in the reconstruction of the Temple of Solomon, while the builders were placing the stones, one of them, the most important for the structure, was rejected by the builders until they realized that the stone that everyone considered unimportant rejected, became the keystone for the structure’s development.
