Israel in These Final Days
The other day, I asked Artificial Intelligence who would be the winner between Israel and Hamas. The answer surprised me. I would receive a forceful response loaded with one of the two factions. However, I have my opinion based on the Scriptures and my readings about religion and history involved in the conflict. But anyway, I wanted to venture into this new tool of knowledge.
This was the response that the AI gave me:
"It is important to remember that war is a tragic event that causes suffering to many people. Instead of focusing on who will win, we should work together to find peaceful and fair solutions for everyone involved."
From a Christian, ethical, and moral point of view, the response was exceptional. I was expecting a response with arguments loaded with one side or the other of the conflict, but I was surprised. I reaffirm that AI has arrived for the well-being of humanity at all levels.
When we analyze this war between Hamas and Israel, from a historical perspective, Israel has roots since Old Testament times.
Abram or Abrahám (Hebrew: Avraham; Arabic Ibrāhīm), originally Abram, is the first of the three patriarchs of Judaism. His story is told in all the sacred texts of the Abrahamic religions and plays a vital role as an example of faith in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. His life and work are recounted in the book of Genesis, the authorship of which is traditionally attributed to Moses.
The narrative revolves around the origin of the people of Israel compared to other ethnic groups. The God Yahweh, the tutelary divinity of the Israelites, reveals himself to an inhabitant of Mesopotamia and orders him to settle in the current Levantine Region. (The term "Levant" refers to a large area of the Middle East, which has historically been a commercial area par excellence, with different trade routes linking the coast and Egypt with the countries of the Middle East. The Levant is also the name of the eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea. The region includes countries such as Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and the Hatay province of Turkey. It also includes the Sinai Peninsula, Cyprus, and parts of Egypt and Iraq (Levant Region, land occupied by the Canaanites, which Yahweh promised to Abraham and his progeny).
The Call of Abram (4,000 years ago)
Genesis (12) - Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great so that you will be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

Why did God command the Canaanites to be exterminated?
"You will completely destroy the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. "This is the commandment of the LORD your God." (Deuteronomy 20:17) –"You shall devote them to complete destruction, the Hittites and the Amorites, the Canaanites and the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, as the LORD your God has commanded."
But ironically, the New Testament says the opposite of destroying men.
"Be peaceful toward all men." (Romans 12:18)
DO THESE VERSES SEEM CONTRADICTORY TO YOU?
Many people think that God's command to destroy the Canaanites is incompatible with the biblical instruction for us to be peaceful. Isaiah 2:4 says:
"He (Christ the Messiah) shall judge among the nations, and shall decide disputes for many peoples, and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore."
And in Corinthians (2:11), Paul tells them: - "Finally, brothers, continue to rejoice, correct one another,* accept comfort, have the same mind and live in peace, and so the God of love and peace will be with you. As we have seen, God does not want the destruction of human beings; instead, what God wants is for us to love one another and for everyone to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9 -ESV – "The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but he is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance."
The Canaanites descended from the grandson of Noah, Canaan. He was cursed because he sinned against Noah.
In (Genesis 9:20-25) – "Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. 21 When he drank some of his wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside him. 23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father's naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked. 24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said, "Cursed be Canaan! "The lowest of slaves will be his brothers."
It seems from God's promise to Abraham that the Canaanites were wicked and idolatrous people. In Genesis 15:16, the LORD made reference to the Canaanites when he said,
In Genesis 15, God confirms His unconditional covenant with Abram. God promises Abram, many descendants who will inherit the land in which Abram sojourns. God then gives Abram a brief timeline of future events:
"Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there" (in Egypt) (Genesis 15:13).
And then, "In the fourth generation, your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure" (verse 16)." (As in the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah).
In the destruction of the Babel Tower in Genesis 11:9, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
God's promise to Abraham that they were wicked and idolatrous people. In Genesis 15:16, the LORD made reference to the Canaanites when he said, "The sin of the Amorites (Canaanites) has not yet reached its full measure." "In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure."
(As in the days of Noah and Sodom and Gomorrah). In the destruction of the Babel Tower in Genesis 11:9, "If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other."
Once the people of Babel invented bricks instead of stones, they started to build the Towel of Babel to reach Heaven and make a name for themselves. "3 They
said to each other, "Come, let's make bricks and bake them
thoroughly." They used brick instead of stone and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, "Come, let us build
ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may
make a name for ourselves; otherwise, we will be scattered over the
face of the whole earth."
They were disobeying God's mandate to fill the earth and be fruitful. In Genesis 1:27,28 says: "7 So God created mankind in his own image, in
the image of God he created them;
male and female, he created them.28 God
blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in
number; fill the earth and subdue it."
God was waiting to fulfill his justice against these people. And as history trudged along, the Canaanites became increasingly wicked.
In (Genesis 10:15-19), we read of 11 groups in Syria and Palestine that descended from Canaan. Thus, at times, the Canaanites point to a specific group of people (Joshua 11:3), but it can also refer to any of those mentioned in the Genesis 10 table of nations. This is why many scholars today consider the Canaanites more of an ethnic unit than a nation, per se. Some even consider them to be a specific social class (merchants). But much of these references are based upon Egyptian and Mari history. Read Joshua Chapter 11 here: https://christianismoyfisicacuantica.blogspot.com/2024/01/joshua-1.1.html.
