The Limbic System, the Battle Ground Between Good and Evil

    Samuel Padilla Rosa, PhD

Samuel Padilla Rosa was born on the Island of Puerto Rico, colonized by the Americans during the Spanish-American War In 1898, the United States arrived with its troops on the Island, and since then, Puerto Rico has become a US territory. Puerto Ricans were granted citizenship in 1917, and since then, Puerto Ricans have served in all United States wars and conflicts around the world. That is why, in 1965, Samuel Padilla was drafted into the Armed Forces Army.

Upon his return from the Vietnam War (1968) and after waging another war with the ghosts of the traumas suffered by it, Samuel Padilla entered the Puerto Rico Jr. College. He managed to obtain an associate degree in social studies. He later enrolled at the University of Puerto Rico and earned a bachelor's degree in economics. Before dedicating himself to helping and counseling veterans and young people with drug addiction, Samuel Padilla works with the government of Puerto Rico as an Economist and as a teacher in the Department of Public Instruction. While working in counseling and helping his fellow veterans and youth with addiction problems, Samuel Padilla earned a master's degree in theological studies. In 1975, he moved to New York City and co-pastored Pastor Carlos Torres Oyola in Lower Manhattan. Together with Pastor Torres Oyola, he founded a drug addiction program in the city of Newark, New Jersey. Five years later, he returned to Puerto Rico and completed a doctorate in the fledgling discipline of Neuroscience, "Christian Neuro Theology."

Samuel Padilla Rosa, PhD, is dedicated to teaching, giving conferences carrying the message for these times of Daniel 12:4, where people walk from here to there and from there to here, and science multiplies by leaps and bounds.

Many soldiers returned from the War in wooden crates lined with a flag, others with amputated hands or feet, and others like him, with the spirit amputated and a heart valve atrophied by Agent Orange lodged in the viscera of the organism. For hands and feet, some prosthetics helped them move in their daily struggles for existence, but for those with amputated spirits, there were no prosthetics that would do, just a bottomless, deep pit of anguish and despair whose bottom he could not find.

With this Bio,  he just wants people to meet the “baby killer,” “the ticking time bomb,” the “crazy Vietnam vet,” and “the Vietnam vet drug addict,” as they called them when they came back home, broken into pieces. He wants to let them know how, from the jungles of Vietnam and traumatized, he overcame all those obstacles and achieved a PhD in neuroscience and even, through a small window, peeked into that beautiful and amazing world of light and color called,  Quantum Physics.

I wrote something about the activation of the thalamus’ limbic system memory storage. It activated all these memories in my Limbic System, but they were neutralized by the power of God’s words where some of them say: “My thoughts are not your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:811). “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ. (Philippians 4:6).
