The Disobedience and Its Consequences
The Disobedience and Its Consequences
Those memories of
Eden, exquisite as dreams, weave their threads of light into the traditions of
all peoples. The (paradise) is a place of exceptional happiness,
innocence, and delight. The term paradise is often used as a synonym for the Garden
of Eden before the expulsion of Adam and Eve. An earthly paradise is often conceived of as
existing when heaven and earth were close or touching and when man and God had a free and happy association. Christianity also includes the notion of a fuller life beyond the grave, a land
in which there will be an absence of suffering and complete satisfaction of
bodily desires. Accounts of a primordial earthly paradise in the
higher religions range from that of a garden of life (Judaism, Christianity,
Islam to that of a golden age of human society at the beginning of each cycle
of human existence (Buddhism, Hinduism). A final state of bliss is variously
conceived of as a heavenly afterlife (Islam, Christianity),
union with the divine (Hinduism), or an eternal condition of
peace and changelessness (Buddhism).
Adam and Eve were in that paradise when they were
created in the likeness of Adam’s Creator. The paradise was a place of
exceptional happiness, innocence, and delightfulness. But they were
expelled for disobeying Adam and Eve's Creator’s laws. An earthly paradise is often conceived of as existing when heaven and earth were close together or touching and when man and God had a free and happy association. Christianity also
includes the notion of a fuller life beyond the grave, a land in which there
will be an absence of suffering and a complete satisfaction of bodily desires,
in other words, the return to Paradise.
Adam and Eve were there,
eating the forbidden fruit until they "heard
the Lord God
as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they
hid from the Lord God
among the garden's trees. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
The God who created and sustains you asks, “Where
are you?”
We believe He created our first parents in His
image and likeness (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:7). When we turn to the
New Testament, we find unequivocal statements about creation. John 1:1-3
says: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him, all things were made.” Without
him, nothing was made that has been made.; Colossians 1:16-17. These verses tell us how man
was created, and the same God who created us is the One who sustains us, cares
for us, watches over us, and supplies our needs, and He asks, “Where are you?”
2. The God against whom you have disobeyed asks, “Where
are you?”
We read in Genesis 2:15-17 how sin
entered the world, but we must be careful to see that the whole human race has been involved through the sin of our first parents. We have been involved. “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people because all sinned.” Romans 5:12. Also compare Isaiah 53:6 – “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” “For
everyone belongs to me, the parent and the child—both alike belong to
me. The one who sins are the one who will die.” Ezekiel 18:4. But still
says: “Where are you?
3. The God you are hiding from asks, “Where
are you?”
He
answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so, I hid.” (Genesis 3:7-10). It tells us of Adam and Eve's efforts to hide from God. Of course, no one can hide from Him. (Psalm
139:1-12) says: “Where can I go from your
Spirit. Where can I flee from your presence? If
I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If
I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even
there, your hand will guide me.” (Proverbs 15:3) says: “The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.” (Jeremiah 23:24) says: “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?”, declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?”
declares the LORD. All over the world, people are
trying to hide from God to hide behind excuses for not loving Him and for not
serving Him; they are behind some tree, but no tree, no excuse, nothing, can
hide us from the all-seeing eye of God. “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s
sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before
the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13). But still asking you, “Where are
you?
It was not until Adam and Eve heard
God walking in the garden that they knew their actual existence away
from their Creator. With this new state of consciousness, confusion, forgetfulness, doubts, and unlimited freedom, they had lost all
contact with their Creator and had forgotten Him. Suddenly they heard the
footsteps of God walking in the orchard. At that moment, the couple began to
feel different, separated from their Creator, from everything, as a
loneliness that separated them from each other and their environment. They
became frightened.
And he
said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.” Genesis 3:10).
When
Adam heard the Lord’s footsteps in the Garden, his ears sent the information to
the amygdala, an area of the brain that contributes to emotional processing, automatically
activates the “fight-or-flight response; they hide from God. In doing so, they
began to act on their own. They started to behave with the unconscious of the
limbic system, especially unconsciously activating the amygdala and the
forefront lobule.
We, humans, tend to make God in our own image. If we react in a certain way, we
assume that God would think and act similarly. But here, God reminds us
that he exists and thinks on a very different level1. Human reasoning cannot
comprehend God's thought process1.
As the
apostle Paul explained, the things of God are “to be spiritually discerned”
through the gift of God's Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:14). In other words,
God's thoughts and ways are higher (or beyond) than ours, just as the heavens
are above the earth.
That’s
why (Romans 1:21-25) says: “For although they knew
God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became
futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming
to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged
the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds
and animals and creeping things. Therefore, God
gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring
of their bodies among themselves, because they
exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the
creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.”
"Nikola Tesla said: “"My brain is only a receiver; in the Universe, there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength, and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know it exists."
(In my next blog, I will try to explain, with the help of the Holy Spirit and Quantum laws, the
mystery of that Universes’ Core with Bible
texts).
