Jesus Christ analogous to the Light
Many biblical texts,
both in the Old and New Testaments, mention Jesus, linked to the referent of fire
and light.
The Holy Scriptures says: No one has seen God;
Jesus, the Light of the world, he has made known. He is the image of the
invisible God, the firstborn of all creation..
The Holy Scriptures says: “That true light, which
illuminates every man, came to this world.”
In his prophecy the prophet Isaiah presented the Messiah,
Jesus, as the Light that shines in the
darkness
More than 500 years before Christ, the prophet
Isaiah prophesied about his coming and presented Him as the "light"
that shines in the darkness. Seeing the condition of the people, the prophet
Isaiah called it spiritual darkness caused by the evil, fear, and
discouragement experienced by the people at that time, when the Assyrians
attacked the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali.
“Afflicted and hungry, they will roam the earth; when they are
hungry, they will be enraged, and when they look up, they will curse their king
and their God. Then they will look towards the earth and will only see the
anguish, the darkness, the fear, and the sadness, and they will be pushed into
absolute darkness.”
And
in the next chapter, Isaiah prophesies about the light that would come and
shine on them, Jesus Christ the Messiah, at His First Coming:
“But there will not always be darkness for the
one who is now in anguish, such as the affliction that came to him at the time
they lightly touched the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali the first
time; For at last the road of the sea will fill with glory, on that side of the
Jordan, in Galilee of the Gentiles. The people who walked in darkness saw great
light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, light shone on
them.”
The Holy Scriptures says: “I, the Lord, have
called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand I will
keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the
people and a light for the Gentiles to open eyes that are blind, to
free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in
darkness”
And
more than 500 years later, the New Testament writer, Luke, links and relates
the beginning of Jesus' ministry to the prophecy of Isaiah, when Jesus stands
in the temple to read the scroll where he reads the prophetic mission that He
says:
The Holy Scriptures says: “He went to
Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went
into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the
scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found where it is written: “The

The striking analogy between Jesus,
the light of the world, and the natural light of quantum physics
